Kuwait Mobile ID is a secure mobile-based Digital ID derived from the Civil ID. It is capable of identity verification, COVID-19 vaccination certificate, authentication to online e-services, and applying trusted digital signature to documents and transaction.

Install Kuwait Mobile ID from the App Store in case of iOS or from the Play Store in case of Android or from AppGallery for Huawei devices that don’t support the Play Store

Various service providers (SPs) including government agencies, oil sector companies, banks, private companies, and others will integrate their e-services with the Mobile ID service to provide more safe and secure e-Service.

  • Self-enrollment through the application (currently available).
    Note: only ID verification and medium level authentication will be available through this enrollment channel. Signing services and strong level authentication (Verification Level: Qualified) will not be supported in this option, it will be available only through our other channels i.e. (Self-service kiosk and enrollment at PACI service centers).
  • Enrollment though MID self-service kiosks distributed by PACI.
    - National Bank of Kuwait (NBK): 5 Branches (Head Office, Rumytheya Branch, Mubarak Alkabeer Branch, Avenues Branch, VAN car).
    - Kuwait Finance House (KFH): 3 Branches (KFH Automotive-Shuweikh Branch, Ishbliya Branch, Alsalam Branch).
    - Boubyan Bank: 5 Branches (Al-Qasr Branch, Sabah Elsalem Branch, Al-Andalus Branch, Al-Sideeq Branch, Al-Ahmadi Branch).
    - Kuwait International Bank (KIB): 1 Branch (KIB Head Office).
    - Burgan Bank: 3 Branches (Head Office, Al-Adiliya Branch, Marina Mall Branch).
    - Al Rajhi Bank: Head Office (2 Kiosks).
    - PACI HQ: South Sura19 Kiosks.
  • …PACI to decide any other sites. (Later).

You have to update the app to the latest version v1.7.1 from the Appstore, Playstore or Huawei AppGallery (for Huawei devices that don’t support the Playstore), then you will see your COVID-19 vaccine status in the app.

You can see the details of your vaccine status by clicking on the “COVID-19 Vaccine Status” (in the main screen in the app), a pop-up window will open showing the details of your vaccine.
You can refresh the vaccine status data by clicking on the refresh button at the bottom Left of the pop-up window.

You have to check with the Ministry of Health to update your vaccine status.

Yes, the MID service is currently available for article 20 residency holders since 19/12/2020.

The service is currently available for the following categories:

  • All citizens and residents over the age of 5 and under the age of 18 with expired CIDs and paid renewal requests.
  • All citizens and residents over the age of 18 having civil ID with more than one month validity.
  • PACI will announce the procedure for under 5 years (later).

Check the entered data again and if it’s correct, then you have to validate your data with MOI.

The verification level depends on the registration method used to enroll in the app. The higher the verification level is the more features enabled in the app.

  • Verification Level: Medium
    You obtain this level when you register your Mobile ID through “Online Registration using Mobile”
    Features available:
    - ID Verification.
    - COVID-19 Vaccine details including the status.
  • Verification Level: High
    You obtain this level when you register your Mobile ID through “Online Registration using Mobile”, then you “Activate Authentication” from the side menu or the Authentication button at the bottom menu
    Features available:
    - ID Verification.
    - COVID-19 Vaccine details including the status.
    - Authenticate (Medium level).
  • Verification Level: Qualified
    You obtain this level when you register your Mobile ID through “Self Service Kiosk”
    Features available:
    - ID Verification
    - COVID-19 Vaccine details including the status.
    - Authenticate (Strong level).
    - Digital Signature.
    - PIN Unlock (by using the Kiosk)

To enable strong authentication, you have to visit one of PACI Mobile ID self-service kiosks and register your Mobile ID using the kiosk (you should have a valid smart civil ID to register using the Kiosk).

To enable medium authentication, go to the side menu of app and select “Activate Authentication” or click the Authenticate button at the bottom menu (follow the on-screen instructions to upgrade your identity and enable the medium authentication feature).

You have to contact the service provider of the service you are trying to access (Ministry, Bank …) for support.

No, you can’t get your Mobile ID in the Kuwait Mobile ID App. you have to wait till you receive your civil ID to register in the App using its serial number.

If an additional phone is available, you simply can download the app and register again. This will automatically remove your previously issued ID without any further efforts.

It can be done by one of the three following ways:

  • Using “Cancel Identity” option in the application.
  • Using the MID self-service kiosk distributed by PACI.
  • Visiting one of PACI Service centers which provides the MID service. (Later)

No. Your Mobile ID can be issued on only one mobile device at a time.

No. for each smart phone, only one MID can be issued.

You need to cancel your MID on your old phone first. Then you can request a new MID through the different previously mentioned enrollment channels.

The service is currently available for all the citizens and residents with smart cards over the age of 5 years. Soon, PACI will announce the procedure for under 5 years.

Yes, Mobile ID services can be used abroad.

Yes. You can use your MID on your smart phone as a digital identity that could replace the physical CID. It’s a legal identity that issued and accredited by PACI.

It’s your responsibility to protect your MID on your phone from being stolen or misused. Meanwhile it’s PACI’s responsibility to protect your MID application and backend from frauds and unsecure channels during the MID usage.

Yes. You can change your PIN through your Kuwait Mobile ID App by choosing “Change PIN” in the Menage screen.

  • If you enrolled your Mobile ID using Kiosk or service center, please visit the nearest one to unlock you PIN.
  • If you enrolled your Mobile ID using online registration, please remove the app from your mobile and reinstall it, then register again to recover your Mobile ID.

Kuwait MID currently supports the following versions:

  • Android: 8,9,10 and 11. (Android 7 is no longer supported).
  • iOS: 11,12,13 and 14”.

The renewal or updating the Mobile ID data can be done by clicking the Check for Updates button on the Manage screen in the app.

  • If your civil ID expired and you didn’t renew it, renew your civil ID, then go to the Manage screen and click “Check for Updates” to update your Mobile ID.
  • If you already renewed your civil ID, go to the Manage screen and click “Check for Updates” to update your Mobile ID.

  • You have to validate and correct your data in MOI, then you have to issue a new civil ID and pay the 5KD fee.
  • After that go to the Manage screen and click Check for Updates to update your Mobile ID.
