Kuwait Mobile ID is a secure mobile-based Digital ID derived from the Civil ID. It is capable of identity verification, COVID-19 vaccination status, authentication to online e-services, and applying trusted digital signature to documents and transaction. In addition, it provides Government credentials wallet framework to the citizens and residents of Kuwait. This wallet will include the following features:
- Included credentials (Driving License, Birth Certificate, Vehicle Registration, Children Civil IDs and AFYA health insurance card)
- Multiple view support for some credentials (List View, Card View)
- Credential verification through QR Code
- Credential sharing
- Extensible to add more credentials in the future

Various service providers (SPs) including government agencies, oil sector companies, banks, private companies, and others will integrate their e-services with the Mobile ID service to provide more safe and secure e-Service.

Install Kuwait Mobile ID from the App store for iOS devices, from the Play Store for Android devices or from Huawei AppGallery for Huawei devices that don’t support the Play store.

  • Self-enrollment through the application (Verification Level: High).
    Note: only ID verification and medium level authentication will be available through this enrollment channel. Signing services and strong level authentication (Verification Level: Qualified) will not be supported in this option. It will be available only through our other channels i.e. (Self-service kiosk and enrollment at PACI service centers).
  • Enrollment though Mobile ID self-service kiosks (Verification Level: Qualified). - National Bank of Kuwait (NBK): 5 locations (Head Office, Surra Branch, Al-Siddeeq Branch, Avenues Branch (Close to IKEA), NBK Tower).
    - Kuwait Finance House (KFH): 16 locations (Head Office, KFH Automotive-Shuweikh Branch, Ishbliya Branch, Alsalam Branch, Fahd Al-Ahmad Branch, Subhia Branch. Saad Al-Abdallah Branch, Hetein Branch, Fentas Branch, Salwa Branch, Abdallah AL-Mubarak Branch, Al-Rehab Branch, Al-Fayhaa Branch, Al-Andalus Branch, Mubarak Al-Kabeir Branch, Al-Kasr Branch).
    - Boubyan Bank: 5 locations (Al-Qasr Branch, Sabah Elsalem Branch, Al-Andalus Branch, Al-Siddeeq Branch, Al-Ahmadi Branch).

Near Field Communication (NFC) technology that allows users to make secure transactions, exchange digital content, and connect electronic devices with a touch.

Once you select online registration, you will get a popup message asking you to put your civil ID behind the phone in the upper side so the app can read your data directly from the civil ID (Civil ID number, Card Serial number and Passport number).

Yes, you can get your Mobile ID in the Kuwait Mobile ID App. Use the “Registration Through your mobile phone” option to register, you don’t have to enter the card serial number.

It is a Virtual image of your Civil ID based on your Kuwait Mobile ID data. If the serial number in the card preview was empty, it means that your civil ID is still not printed yet.

You can share your Civil ID image by pressing on the share button below the Civil ID image, then select how you want to share it (choose the app).

Yes, the Mobile ID service is currently available for article 20 residency holders.

The service is currently available for the following categories:

  • All citizens and residents over the age of 5 having valid civil ID with more than one month validity.
  • All citizens and residents over the age of 5 who renewed their civil ID and paid the issuance fee.
  • New residents in Kuwait who are issuing their first civil ID card.
  • Go to the Wallet screen.
  • Press on the + button to see the list of credentials providers.
  • Select credential provider
  • Choose a credential then press the + button (The credential will be added to your wallet successfully).

You can view some of your credentials in two views (Card view, Data view) and you can switch between them easily.

  • Open the credential you want to share.
  • Click the share button to share the credential as attachment.
  • Select how you want to share the credential (choose the app).

Yes. You can change your PIN through your Kuwait Mobile ID App by choosing “Settings & Security” from the side menu, then click “Change PIN” option.

  • If you enrolled your Mobile ID using Kiosk or service center, please visit the nearest one to unlock your PIN.
  • If you enrolled your Mobile ID using online registration, please use the “Reset PIN” option in the login screen or by choosing “Settings & Security” from the side menu, then click “Unlock PIN” option to unlock your PIN.

    Title: your issue (ex: problem during enrollment)
    Body: mention your CID number, your mobile number and the problem description.

Check the entered data again and if it’s correct, then you must validate your data with the Ministry of Interior (MOI).

The verification level depends on the registration method used to enroll your Mobile ID. The higher the verification level is the more features are enabled in the app.

  • Verification Level: High
    You obtain this level when you register your Mobile ID through “Registration Through your Mobile Phone”
    Features available:
    - ID Verification.
    - COVID-19 Vaccine details including the third booster dose.
    - Authenticate (Medium level).
    - Credential Wallet (that includes Driving License, Birth Certificate, Vehicle Registration, Children Civil IDs, AFYA health insurance card, …)
    - PIN Unlock (by using the “Forget PIN” option on the login screen).
  • Verification Level: Qualified
    You obtain this level when you register your Mobile ID through “Self Service Kiosk”.
    Features available:
    - ID Verification
    - COVID-19 Vaccine details including the third booster dose.
    - Authenticate (Strong level).
    - Digital Signature.
    - Credential Wallet (that includes Driving License, Birth Certificate, Vehicle Registration, Children Civil IDs, AFYA health insurance card, …)
    - PIN Unlock (by using the Kiosk).

To enable digital signature, you must visit one of PACI Mobile ID self-service kiosks and register your Mobile ID using the kiosk (you should have a valid smart civil ID to register using the Kiosk).

You must contact the service provider of the service you are trying to access (Ministry, Bank …) for support.

If an additional phone is available, you can simply download the app and register again. This will automatically revoke your previously issued Mobile ID without any further efforts.

It can be done by one of the three following ways:

  • Using “Cancel Mobile ID” option in “Setting & Security” menu in the app.
  • Using one of the Mobile ID self-service kiosks distributed by PACI.
  • Visiting one of PACI Service centers which provides the MOBILE ID service. (Later).

No. Your Mobile ID can be issued on only one mobile device at a time.

No. for each smart phone, only one Mobile ID can be issued, but you can add your children’s civil IDs to your Credential Wallet.

You need to cancel your Mobile ID on your old phone first. Then you can register a new Mobile ID on the new phone through the different previously mentioned enrollment channels.

The service is currently available for all the citizens and residents with smart cards over the age of 5 years, but you can add your children’s civil IDs to your Credential Wallet.

Yes, Mobile ID services can be used abroad.

Yes. You can use your Mobile ID on your smart phone as a digital identity that could replace the physical CID. It’s a legal identity that issued and accredited by PACI.

It’s your responsibility to protect your Mobile ID on your phone from being stolen or misused. Meanwhile it’s PACI’s responsibility to protect your Mobile ID application and backend from frauds and unsecure channels during the Mobile ID usage.

Kuwait Mobile ID currently supports the following versions:

  • Android: 8 and above.
  • iOS: 13 and above.

To renew or update your Mobile ID data, press the “Update” button located beside the Notifications button at the top of the screen.

  • If your civil ID expired and you didn’t renew it, renew your civil ID, then press the “Update” button located beside the Notifications button at the top of the screen to update your Mobile ID.
  • If you already renewed your civil ID, press the “Update” button located beside the Notifications button at the top of the screen to update your Mobile ID.

  • You must validate and correct your data in MOI, then you have to issue a new civil ID and pay the 5KD fee.
  • After that press the “Update” button located beside the Notifications button at the top of the screen to update your Mobile ID.
